Tico is in hospital since yesterday evening. He was breathing very fast, seemed to get weaker, eat less and dehydrated so vet adviced me to take him for intensive care and have him checked up. He is slightly premature, 327 days, (300-325 counts as premature) and vet was worried his symptoms depended on this disposition which could be quite critical. I had a feeling it was something else becuase he has been very active and happy but he was very tired, slept alot and eyes seemed to sink in so of course I did not want to take any risks and in about 10 me and my mother had them both in trailer. They went straight in with the help of vet and off we went to Spains best hospital, I could drive but not speak. We were recieved by three very nice vets and both Tico and Pica got a thorough check up. All biochemical tests and blood were good, immunsystem too but there was a indication of possible infection that had not yet started, so it appeared we arrived in good time. Antibiotics and vitamins, and he is supervised at all hours, feels good but awful not to have him at home and of course very worried all the time, my baby!
So to distract from yesterday's trauma we spent all day in stables, took boys out in paddocks.
