Hello everyone in the middle of the summer hope you are enjoying the sunshine!!  4 horses in vikingafarm are now in full training and there is no time to be lazy! I have been selecting horses for clients and here are two of PRE both with 100% mind/body quality. 

Artico has covered 5 mares in Spain this season and we are very pleased because all of them where confirmed on first insemination! Thanks again to Concha and her professional team, you are the best! Today we got a new booking so he will be back at station so time to book if you want cooled semen for your mare!

So when Start finally had recovered from last year he got laminitis in march,. This was simply alittle too much for me and I lost all inspiration for training towards competition riding I left our 4 year old with a collegue to be broken in, Artico I sent to breedingstation. Then came spring and the foals and redirected my attention that was needed 100% and I focused on work and my clients. But now he has recovered with the help of a expert farrier, treatments and a correct diet and it is such a relief to see him move like normal again! I sat on him today and wow it felt great to be back there I can tell you!!

We are having stormy hail/snow/rainy days in Madrid right now, tonight all horses are snuggled up inside, ladies got their hair done and Starti is shaved naked and looking his super self again, he gets very hairy,. It was now one year ago he was struggling for his life, I look at him now and he is glowing, born 1999 and no signs of age on that horse, love him and so happy he is still here, life is good! 
Quinto has moved to live with his owner so now it's just us in stables and we are down to 9. Today we had a visit from a owner of two horses that might come and share our home, we have plenty of space so they would be very welcome to come and share. We are all getting back in business training wise, I have had some time off from riding in January and December because of personal reasons, but today in the middle of the worse weather the inspiration was on top and all 3 boys got a good workout between the hailstorms,. Viking-weather I suppose, makes you feel alive when the frosty wind is biting your cheeks :) So now I have made a 2017 training program for Donoso, Start and Tico and I am looking forward to getting back into competition arena with the boys si Dios quiere as they say in Spain,.   

      
   
   

Artico is now being booked of the 2017 season, his semen has been exported successfully to Australia and storage is on its way to USA. I made a breeding page for him where breeders can post offspring and you can follow his progress. He is developing alot and it will be interesting to see what will become of him. Donoso just had another PRE mare in Australia confirmed pregnant on one and only insemination, superman! A breeders happiness!

Uy friday again! We started with a beautiful early monday morning collecting Donoso for a spanish breeder, D was a star and vets got semen delivered in perfect time to get the mare bred bred the same day, good job!!

Here is Villy this week, little by little, he is much more connected now through the topline and certainly better in contact. He is super centered in his work. Goooood boy :)

We have tried a new very interesting process with Start through a tecnique called TBM, Total Body Modification. This tecnique is basically applied physiology through kinesiological testing, used to strenghten the natural energetic system of the body through body muscle testing, which indicates the organic deficiency of the body. With this tecnique you regulate the system of the body through the autonomic nervous system, which regulates all the physiologic processes of the body. We applied it to strenghten Start's overall physiology last week for the first time. The practitioner is a doctor and had never done TBM on horses so we used it through me. Very interesting. As Start was weak he was not able to recieve alot of treatment, if the body is not well it can only recieve so much healing and indicates when to stop. 
The day after the wound from the surgery stopped leaking pus and he was able to go out grazing all day,. 

But on the monday this week he again got sick, stopped eating, had acute colic pains, raised temperature and 100% watery diarrea. I did not get a good feeling at all. Actually I got a emergency acute feeling that he would not make another intestine infection. I decided to give him more TBM immidiately that evening. And wow. After the treatment he changed totally, pains stopped, he started to eat and drink, temp normal and calm! The day after he was still ok, the feces were now substantial and visual even though he did not digest the food well. We gave him more TBM focusing on digestive system. The day that the after feces were back to normal and he is stable again. Yeeeees!!!!!   Thank you, thank you, thank you,..

Hello back again, still here enjoying summer! Have been out with clients and viewing horses for a few days but now back at the farm and today we had some surprise action, I dragged the arena with my car and yes everything is so extremely dry now so the cloud of dust I conjured was pretty substiantial and suddenly we had the full firebrigade over us, ups!!     They were so FAST! Very polite and nice people that seemed relieved there was no fire so no hard feelings, alittle embarrassing I must say but they were so understanding of me wanting good footing for the horses and wanting to save the water for the horses rather than the sand,.  

 
     

Now we are getting out of more laid back summer training schedule and into focusing again, this is Start from yesterday evening, oh noo when I watch it I see soo much to improve but I think Starti is great!!! Can't wait to get him into real shape because he deserves it so much. So, now competition passports are updated for both D and S and now we  all just need to get into shape for competitions this autumn,.

Two milestones this weekend, Start did his second GP and Gacela is finally at home!!

We start with Starti that has not got the preparation he deserves as have had my little foal in hospital now for almost 2 weeks. So I have ridden when I had the time and the energy and most of these two weeks I've had neither. But with my work and the life I lead realize I will never arrive to a perfect timing before a competition so I thought f,..k it, we are going. I made our goal for this competition a serious test and over 60% and S actually did his absolute best test, nailing all the tempis and trot extentions, nailed all flying changes 100% clean, super stops, tripping once, one canter step in one of the passage and a kick at the end of 15 perfect tempi ones! So a great feeling and super pleased with my Starti!! 

   
     
     

And finally today on her 12th birthday we went to pick up Gacela. She is much stronger and I hope she will keep advancing, my warmest Thank You to the most fantastic team of vets and assistants at HSVM Hosptial Veterinario Sierra de Madrid, they have given Ella a chance to live.

I was going to do a resume of the year but I rather look forward and say how thankful I am for my friends and for the the old and new connections I have/made with people and horses, thank You, it's the connections which gives magic to life and the living!
Vikinga herd is now enjoying their home in harmony of a natural environment and I am so grateful to have been able to make this dream possible for my animals and by myself, terracotta stable, new paddocks and my  w o n d e r f u l arena, I made it!! This is how we enjoy a weekend at the farm, my världens bästa dad has just finished our new paddocks and some painting and my mother is helping me so I get time to ride in the middle of all christmas, business and farm-tending.
So with these pics we want to wish you a Very Merry Christmas, with peace and happiness for all!!

We are having incredible weather here now and Starti has had his first bodyshave, the others doesn't get hairy at all. With new groom in the mornings I have more energy to do more things in the afternoon. Arena is now moist and our second round for grass is sprouting just lovely to see horses grazing abit again after the dry summer.
Here a normal saturday morning, Start does his roll in one corner of the arena, roams around freely until I saw he was going for the acorns, then the fun stopped, nono don't want any gascolics here. Incredible how Start can find things to eat always. Donoso and Viggo playing in the field. Did some shots of the girls with mummies in the evening sun, will post later, enjoying seeing them together but they will have to get independent soon.
