My interest in colour genetics started when Reina Vikinga was born, to me colours is an added excitement to the challenge of breeding quality of beauty and movement. Right now I am in the process of testing genetype of Halagador and Donoso, last year we had Festivo MR tested and he came out with this result; EeAACC

..you will see that he can bring down bay and chestnut, he has two chestnut offspring so far. In no way can he have a black offspring. CC means he has no cremegene but if crossed with a mare that has CCr or CrCr the offspring could come out any of the diluted colours; a Buckskin, Perlino, Palomino, Cremello, Dun or Smoky Black.
Reina Vikinga has the constellation Ee Aa CCr and is a dun (she has the backstripe that a buckskin has not) and she will bring down 50% of the dilution gene to her offspring. If we would cross Festivo and Reina Vikinga we could have a offspring with a 25% chance of a coming out palomino, 25% bay, 25% buckskin and 25% chestnut.
